E & J Gallo
My wife Pam and I have 2 children, Maggy (7) and Max (3). I work for the E & J Gallo Winery in sales as the Missouri State Manager. In addition to FDFDs, I volunteer my time as a board member of Hope House, with my church, and at my kid’s school where I try not to be a bad influence on the other kids. In addition to all kinds of great family time, I enjoy working on an old car restoration project with my father, flying in a Cessna 172, and training for triathlons. I also really enjoy food and wine. I became involved with FDFDs when God blessed our family with the birth of our son Max who has Down syndrome.
Chris Sutton
KC Hopps
I grew up in Evanston, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago and attended the University of Illinois- Chicago.
I moved to Kansas City in 1994 to join a restaurant company, K.C. Hopps. I currently serve as the President and COO of K.C. Hopps. Through my job, I started to meeting people and learning more about Kansas City.
My associates, friends and contacts started coming to me for donations. Some for their church youth group, some to raise money for cures for diseases, and still others for causes that were close to their hearts. One friend in particular, who was involved in the management of multiple non-profit organizations, would call me numerous times each year. My response was always the same, “whatever you want”. Finally one day she called and said, it’s time you stop donating a couple dinners here or a party there, and it’s time you jump in head first and really contribute all you have to offer to one organization that could really benefit from your experience, your connections and your resources. I replied that, once again she was right, and asked her to pick out two or three organizations that she felt were a good match for me. After researching Down syndrome and the DSG, I knew that this was the cause and organization that I wanted to work with. I have served as a board member on both the DSG & FDFDS boards for over 7 years, and I now committed more than ever. What I didn’t realize back then, which is so terribly obvious to me now, is that although I do feel like I contribute, the wonderful people I serve with and the beautiful kids and families I serve for don’t need me nearly as much as I need them. It is truly an honor for me to be connected to such a wonderful community. I feel blessed.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf, biking and gardening. I also have been married for 11 years and have two daughters, Chloe & Olivia.
I also serve on the Board of Directors for the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association.
